If you want to become a better futsal attacker, you have to be aware of quick control, and knowing how to beat your defender. That’s where futsal attacking drills come in.
These drills help you improve your positioning, ball control, and dribbling so you can create more chances and finish strong. Below are some fun and effective attacking drills that you can use during training to sharpen your game:
This drill helps players learn how to position themselves for passing and finishing. Set up a 25x40-yard grid with two small goals and split your group into teams of three.
One player from each team acts as the target on the goal line and can move laterally. The game is played 2v2, and each attacker must receive a pass from their target player before attempting a goal.
This drill improves passing accuracy, movement, and positioning and it’s perfect for U12 players or beginners learning attacking concepts.
This exciting one-on-one drill focuses on decision-making skills and reaction speed. Create a wide field with two mini-goals and divide your players into attackers and defenders on opposite sidelines.
The defender starts by passing to the attacker and immediately closes down space. The attacker must beat the defender and choose one of the goals to score.
It’s great for teaching attackers how to fake, turn, and change direction while defenders practice anticipation and quick reactions.
Played in a 40x30-yard grid with two goalkeepers, this small-sided game is all about teamwork, control, and passing. Each team plays 4v4, and a rule is set that at least two players must touch the ball before a goal can be scored.
You can also limit the number of touches per player. This encourages communication, fast thinking, and accurate passing. It’s ideal for developing a team’s attacking rhythm and teaching players how to maintain possession under pressure.
This is a solo drill that sharpens ball control and quick turning ability. Using three cones arranged in a triangle, the player stands in the middle while the coach passes the ball and shouts which cone to turn around.
The player must control the ball, quickly turn toward the indicated cone, dribble around it, and return to the center. It improves a player’s control under pressure, speed of execution, and awareness.
This drill focuses purely on dribbling technique. Set up six cones in a straight line for zig zag dribbling and place a small gate of two cones at the end. Players must dribble through the cones with precision and finish by passing through the gate.
Adding a 30–45 second time limit increases urgency and focus. This drill is especially useful for strikers and wingers who need to master footwork for breakaway attacks or 1v1 situations.
This drill develops both attacking and defending skills. In a 40x30-yard grid, two attackers and two defenders enter the field.
The defenders pass the ball to the attackers and try to regain possession after the pass. The attackers must use quick passes, combination play, and movement to get past the defenders and score in either of two mini-goals.
This drill is perfect for building teamwork, pressing, and quick decision-making under pressure.
In this game-style drill, players are split into two teams and play with regular goals and goalkeepers. The challenge: each team must have at least three different players score to win.
This forces teams to share the ball and encourages all players to get involved in the attack, not just the strongest scorers. With limited touches allowed, this drill teaches attacking as a unit, ball placement, and creativity in finding open players.
Instead of scoring on a goal, this drill challenges players to pass to target teammates positioned at the ends of the grid. In a 2v2 setup, attackers work to move the ball past defenders and successfully connect with a target player.
This drill improves short passing, ball movement, and strategic play. By regularly switching target players, everyone gets the chance to practice accurate delivery and quick decision-making.
This advanced possession drill focuses on ball retention and attacking buildup. Five attackers play against two defenders, with two players supporting on the sidelines and one on the centerline.
After four successful passes, the attackers must switch the ball to a target player on the other end of the field, then follow the ball to support the new attack.
This drill teaches how to maintain possession, switch play quickly, and read the game.
