Term Overview

Being a student of RockStar Academy means embarking on an active and exciting year full of learning; wide range of Events & Competitions, Dance & Ballet Recitals that would boost one’s growth and development.

A RockStar Academy scholastic year consists of 4 terms: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Each term has 11 weeks of intense learning. On week 12th, which is termed the Performance Week, students are assessed by their respective instructor, enabling both students and parents to examine the progress made over the learning period, which is then reported on E-Appraisal Card, sent directly to parents via email two (2) weeks after the term is over.

A term is ended with a Competition Week (Week 13th) for all classes, the period where students are challenged to compete with each other on their chosen program. For students of Non-Sports Elite classes, Week 13th is the most fascinating time as they are eligible to join in Elite Championships, a term competition for Elite Teams in various programs, held in the Atrium of Malls. For students of Sports Elite classes, there are 2 tournaments per term held at outside sport arenas that will inspire them to become a Life Champions!

Progress Report

Communication between instructors/coaches, students and parents is an essential part of the learning experience. Progress report serves as a communication channel to ensure information about a student’s development and achievements is delivered regularly to students and parents.

The objective of reporting is to provide feedback to students and parents on their performance as well as to provide valuable information for instructors/coaches to guide them in managing students' consistent growth and planning the next phase of learning.

Mid-Term Grading Report

Mid-Term Grading is an assessment of a student’s performance in a class in their first half of a term.  This grading is happening from Weeks 5 to Week 7 in all scheduled classes. In order to be eligible for mid-term grading, student has to attend the particular class schedule minimum of 3 times from Week 1 to Week 7. Report is delivered via email to parents on Week 8.

On top of skills performance, Mid-Report Grading also reports discipline  and attitude that a student shows during the learning process.

This mid-term grading is an early indicator of how well a student performs in each class and what are areas that parents and instructors should be aware of. Students, parents, and instructors/coaches are recommended to use the information from the mid-term grading to focus on what has been accomplished and areas of improvement.

Students must fulfil the following requirements in order to receive a Mid-Term Grading Report for a class:

  1. Be registered to the class.
  2. Attend the class at least 3 times within the period of Week 1 to Week 7.
  3. Student’s attendance record is based on tap-in report on the system.  So, having the Membership Card at all times when attending a class is extremely crucial.

Electronic Appraisal Card

Electronic Appraisal Card (EAC) is an assessment of a student’s performance in a class for a term. In order to be eligible for final mid-term grading, student has to attend the particular class schedule minimum of 8 times from Week 1 to Week 11. Report is delivered via email to parents after the term ends.

Similar to Mid-Term Grading, Electronic Appraisal Card also provides evaluations of a student’s discipline and attitude, but with strong emphasizing on progress and achievements in terms of skills.

The information provided in EAC will be beneficial for students, parents, and instructors/coaches in deciding on the directions of what needs to be improved and whether a student is ready to move to the next level or additional practices recommended.

Students must fulfil the following requirements in order to receive an Electronic Appraisal Card for a class:

  1. Be registered to the class.
  2. Attend the class at least 8 times within the period of Week 1 to Week 11 (excluding attendance on Performance Week).
  3. Attendance on Performance Week is not compulsory, but strongly recommended to ensure a better grading.
  4. Student’s attendance record is based on tap-in report on the system.  So, having the Membership Card at all times when attending a class is extremely crucial.
