Contemporary Dance Overview

  • RockStar Academy is a member of CSTD (The Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing) and fully implements its comprehensive Contemporary Technique syllabus. The CSTD Contemporary Dance technique combines a sense of movement incorporating flow, energy, and breath and requires strong attention to technical details, excellent control, speed, and strength to perform dance movements successfully.
  • You will develop physical skills, improvisation and self-expression, perform and compete in various events such as Elite Championships, RockOlympics, and Ballet & Contemporary Recital.

Elite Classes

Contemporary Dance Elite classes prepare students to compete at the highest level. Elite classes are longer, more intense, and are taught by the most experienced instructors. Elite students will have an opportunity to compete in our popular Elite Championships which is held each term in the most exciting venues. 

Students will be rewarded with trophies, ribbons, and certificates. All competition results will be shown on our website standings.
